Slap of style from DS and Givenchy

  • by Mike Torpey
  • May 10, 2016

RACY car brand DS Automobiles and cosmetics company Givenchy are ‘made up’ with their collaboration that will see a fresh-faced new model hit the streets next month.

It is called the DS 3 Givenchy Le MakeUp Limited Edition and has been created to highlight both French luxury and elegance in vehicle design.

The newcomer, which will be on display first at a DS World Paris exhibition until June 7, will be available as a hatchback and a Cabrio, either with a manual gearbox or the latest EAT6 automatic transmission.

Only 500 cars are up for grabs in the UK and all will be powered by the DS brand’s PureTech 110 S&S 3-cylinder petrol engine.

As more than half of all DS 3 drivers are women, the limited edition has been designed to meet the modern day woman’s expectations.

DSGivenchy3So a bespoke Givenchy Le MakeUp kit is stored in a special compartment in the driver’s armrest and both vanity mirrors feature special LED lighting developed exclusively for the model.

The car’s unique styling includes a textured white body colour called Opaline White, while the exterior look is completed with Givenchy Le MakeUp door badges. Inside, there’s a Rose Pink dashboard and black leather upholstery.

DS says it has reinvented a matt finish on this car’s bodywork, using a new paint process for the first time.

The textured paint, not used by any other carmaker, has a granular feel and striking finish aimed at highlighting the lines of the car and contrasts with the Whisper Purple colour of the roof and door mirrors.

Prices for the New DS 3 Givenchy Le MakeUp Limited Edition start from £19,395 for the hatchback and £21,695 for the Cabrio version.
