VAUXHALL’s new Mokka X compact crossover is set to make its debut at next month’s Geneva Motor Show.
The newcomer, which hits UK streets later this year, will boast a fresh design both inside and out, new powertrains plus OnStar and Apple CarPlay.
And it will be the first model to carry the X badge for the brand’s future SUV and crossover models.
Mokka has proved a big success for Vauxhall with more than half a million ordered in Europe and nearly 100,000 in the UK since its arrival nearly four years ago.
Its new style, courtesy of Brit Mark Adams’ design team, heralds a wing-shaped horizontal front grille and dominant LED daytime running lights while the front fascia gets more sculpted surfaces with fewer plastic inserts.
Inside, there’s a new dashboard inspired by the Astra and the centre stack has been redeveloped around the touchscreens of the new generation infotainment systems.
After introducing the 1.6-litre ‘whisper diesel’ engine last year, the Mokka range is extended to include the 152PS 1.4-litre Direct Injection Turbo petrol unit from the Astra.
With a six-speed automatic transmission, adaptive all-wheel drive and start/stop, it can return 42.8mpg and CO2 emissions of 154g/km.
In addition to the personal connectivity and service assistant system OnStar, two versions of the new generation IntelliLink infotainment system will make their debut in the Mokka X.
