THE revamped Nissan Juke crossover model will cost from £13,420 when it arrives in showrooms during June.
That tab is for the 1.6-litre 94PS model in entry level Visia trim and represents a £225 rise on the current model’s price.
However the newcomer will herald a wealth of new technology and styling features, a fresh engine line-up and extensive personalisation options.
And there will also be a 40 per cent increase in luggage capacity on the 2WD version – up to 354 litres
The British-built Juke has already proved a huge hit for Nissan, completing some 420,000 sales in less than 40 months – eclipsing its compact rivals in the process.
Now, just three years down the line from its original launch, a new Juke is on the way with the aim of stamping its authority on the sector it created.
Among the changes are a new front and rear design placing greater emphasis on both premium refinement and sporty design cues.
And under the bonnet will be a new downsized 1.2-litre turbocharged engine and a revised 1.6-litre DIG-T unit.
The revamped car will also boast improved four-wheel drive with a Torque Vectoring System, new alloy wheels, the latest generation NissanConnect driver-vehicle interface, the Japanese company’s dynamic control set-up and the option of an opening glass roof.
Nissan says it isn’t just the entry-level models which have helped Juke become top seller in its area of the market as the most popular engine to date has been the 1.6-litre petrol unit while the flagship Tekna trim grade accounts for more than one third of all sales.
Buyers have also been attracted by special versions – notably the Shiro and the advanced n-tec models – and the Kuro and Ministry of Sound limited editions, along with the sports oriented Juke Nismo.
The £13,420 entry grade car will come with 16-inch alloys, air-con, CD system with AUX-IN connection for MP3 players, front and rear electric windows, a tyre pressure monitoring system and daytime running lights.
Higher spec Acenta trim starts at £15,320, Acenta Premium at £16,470 while the Juke Tekna, from £17,670, has stuff like heated leather seats, automatic headlights and rain-sensing wipers.
