Jane Weaver – Mission Desire

For those who believe these tunes are all about rock, well here’s cosmic singer/songwriter Jane Weaver, who has been around for an age but is at last beginning to get wider recognition.

An NME review of the former Kill Laura singer’s third solo album Cherlokalate described her as having “the sound of Cat Power if she’d grown up next door to Oasis, stealing their Beatles records and outshining them at the school Christmas concert”.

Her latest album, The Silver Globe, leans more toward psych folk – Mission Desire is a standout track.
