Dougie launches pageant discount

  • June 5, 2015

It’s ‘Dougie Discount Day’ at the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power.

Until midnight tonight there will be a 20 per cent discount available on all tickets for the Cheshire extravaganza – and trials bike legend Dougie Lampkin is giving a massive thumbs-up to the offer.

The 12-times world champion was on hand to give fans a taste of what they can expect to see at next weekend’s three-day festival with a display of bike skills at Media City UK in Manchester.

Red Bull UK’s longest serving athlete was joined by a range of extreme machines representing the varied elements of this year’s CPOP from Eighties poster cars and American muscle cars to Lotus icons and track stars.

They ranged from modern greats like the 2015 Lotus Evora GTE, BMW i8 and BAC Mono to a 1969 Lamborghini Miura S ‘Jota’, 1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302 and 1974 Cologne Capri.

And Dougie said: “It was a great experience to ride around the iconic Media City piazza and put myself to the test in a different setting. It served as a great warm up before I take to the diverse Cholmondeley grounds on June 13 and 14.”

The eighth staging of CPOP will celebrate power on land, air and water and will honour Lotus on the opening day of Friday (June 12), American Muscle cars on the Saturday and Eighties supercars on the Sunday.

On two wheels, bike legends Lampkin and Sammy Miller will be performing, while iconic bikes like the Millyard Viper V10 and Suzuki Hayabusa will be on view.

And the world’s only flying Vulcan will be taking to the skies above Cholmondeley for its last ever Cheshire flight, with the Red Bull Matadors also entertaining the crowd with an aerobatic display. Live music comes courtesy of Tenors of Rock and the RPJ Band.

Tickets are available at www.cpop.co.uk for the event at Cholmondeley Castle near Malpas, with adult entry from £30 with children’s tickets starting at £5. For the discount simply quote CPOPMC.
