Volkswagen upgrades with extra kit

Volkswagen Golf R-Line Edition

Volkswagen is revving up for a busy start to 2016 with a raft of trim upgrades across the brand’s core models.

New versions of the Polo, Golf, and Passat Saloon and Estate are already up for grabs from VW retailers, with deliveries set to begin early in the New Year.

Leading the charge is the Polo Match, which replaces the SE trim, and comes in three and five-door body styles plus a wide range of engine and transmission options.

In fact it adds more than £900 worth of extra equipment to the popular supermini.

Among the new standard-fit features are cruise control, front and rear parking sensors, front fog lights with static cornering function, tinted rear windows and new 15-inch alloy wheels.

A price rise of £100 means the Polo Match is available from £12,735.

Meanwhile the Volkswagen Golf, now in its seventh generation, continues the 2016 momentum with the showroom debuts of the Golf GT and R-Line editions.

The forthcoming Golf GT Edition replaces the GT trim level, and gains an additional £1,795 worth of kit including 18-inch alloys and panoramic sunroof.

The new model is priced from £23,915, some £300 more than the GT.

Also part of the Golf line-up, the new R-Line Edition replaces the R-Line trim and, for an increase of £250, adds an extra £1,730 worth of equipment including larger 18-inch alloys and panoramic sunroof. The newcomer costs from £24,860.

VW is also boosting the appeal of its Passat and Passat Estate by adding a revised SE Business trim level with more style and value.

Passat SE Business offers features like Discover Navigation, front fog lights, electric folding door mirrors and tinted rear windows – together amounting to £555 – for £100 more than the outgoing SE models.
