Festival debut for Lexus LC coupe

  • by Mike Torpey
  • June 6, 2016

THE much-anticipated Lexus LC luxury coupe will make its UK debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed later this month.

Unveiled to the world at the Detroit Motor Show earlier this year, the Lexus LC will take pride of place as a display on Lexus’s stand but will also be driven up Goodwood’s famous hillclimb course by a trio of international racing drivers – Mike Conway, Scott Pruett and ex-F1 driver Alex Wurz.

The drivers will demonstrate a V8-powered LC 500 example of the new flagship coupe in the ‘First Glance’ category on the hill.

The car, which goes on sale next spring, will officially make its UK bow as a static display on preview day of Thursday, June 23, meaning visitors will get a sneak preview of the car before the crowds descend on the Goodwood estate for the main Festival weekend.

Visitors to the show will also see Lexus’s LFA supercar, RC F, and GS F, together with F Sport versions of the Japanese company’s latest hybrid models – the RC 300h coupe, NX 300h crossover and RX 450h luxury SUV – on the manufacturer’s stand.

Meanwhile, visitors to the Moving Motor Show on June 23 will also get the chance to take the wheel of the RC F and GS F coupes themselves on the hillclimb course.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed is from June 23-26 and while ticket info is available via www.goodwood.com/tickets or by calling 01243 755055.
