smart forfour edition black

IT’S all black and white with the latest special editions from small car specialist brand smart.

The company’s new ‘edition white’ and ‘edition black’ models have been made available to order ahead of first deliveries towards the end of next month.

In the case of the smart fortwo models the price will be £12,360, rising to £12,855 for the smart forfour.

Based on the well-equipped prime trim grade, which includes stuff like heated leather seats, the newcomers add the Urban Style and the Premium packages as standard.

That means buyers will get a three-spoke sports steering wheel with perforated leather, brushed stainless steel sports pedals with rubber studs, 16-inch black alloy wheels, chrome plated exhaust tailpipe and wheel-arch extensions with smart lettering.

And it includes a comfort package of height adjustable steering wheel and driver’s seat, heated and electrically adjustable exterior mirrors, rear parking assistance and smart media system with European sat-nav.

The fortwo special editions come with more than £1,500 worth of extra kit for £895, resulting in a customer saving of over £600, while the forfour offers £1,660 of features – including rear privacy glass – for an extra £760 of value.

The edition white models feature white tridion cells, combined with white body panels and a white grille, making them stand out as special-edition smarts.

No surprise then that the edition black models come with black bodywork, black tridion cells and a black grille – although customers can pay £100 for a white tridion cell.

As with the rest of the smart range, the edition white and edition black models can be ordered with either a 71bhp naturally-aspirated or 90bhp turbo three-cylinder petrol engine, and with a five-speed manual or six-speed automatic gearbox.
