Mustang CS850GT – double dynamite

  • June 23, 2021

DOUBLE dynamite is the name of the game from high-performance guru Clive Sutton who has just launched the fiery CS850GT Mustang.

It’s a hefty reworking of Ford’s latest 5.0-litre V8 muscle car, created in response to fans frustrated that the Blue Oval boys don’t build a right-hand drive Shelby GT500 for the UK market.

With the Sutton version output has been boosted to a volcanic 847bhp, making it Britain’s most powerful new Mustang with almost twice the 454bhp of the stock model.

It boasts a custom-tuned Whipple Supercharger, intercooler and a Quad Active XFORCE exhaust that together shift a whopping 902Nm of torque, the performance accessed via a short-shift six-speed manual gearbox.

And upgraded anti-roll bars, enhanced bracing plus new subframe components combine with custom Vossen 20-inch wheels, uprated DBA brakes and Hawk pads to ensure supreme dynamics.

Visually there’s a reworked front end for that GT500-style appearance, carbon fibre side rockers, colour adjustable tri-bar headlights along with LED side and rear lights.

The cabin, which can be customised with leather, Alcantara and various colours, features a Sutton red billet starter button in a new carbon fibre dash which sits behind the flat-bottomed steering wheel.

Clive Sutton, who has been one of the largest importers of Ford and Shelby Mustangs for 15 years, said: “Our bespoke Mustang creation tops even the most powerful stock offering in the US, including the Shelby GT500, guaranteeing owners exclusivity and unparalleled Mustang enjoyment.”

Prices are from £115,000.
