The hippie sensitivities of Robert Plant and Jimmy Page were amplified with songs like Going To California, That’s The Way and Battle of Evermore.

The best of Zep’s folksy offerings though – and a template for the followed year’s ‘Stairway’ – was Tangerine, from Led Zeppelin III.

Originally penned by Page during his time with The Yardbirds it stands comparison with anything the band ever produced.
